The collaboration between Edmond Jaeger of Paris and LeCoultre culminated in their official merger in 1937. During their initial years, watches bearing solely the LeCoultre name were designated for the American market, while the more exclusive pieces featuring only the Jaeger inscription on the dial were likely sold in France. Although Jaeger-LeCoultre commenced producing their own movements and supplying them to other brands in the 1940s, chronograph movements were not part of their product line at that time. Consequently, this particular watch houses the robust and meticulously crafted Universal Genève caliber 285.
